this is a homage to the film melodramas from the 50s ,and specially to Douglas sirk. I love todd haynes' work , he's really great and i think he's of one the best directors of our era , even though he hasn't done that many films, he likes to work with julianne moore.

The end is so very sad....nobody wins. This movie, I feel, really shows what life must of been like in the 1950's.

the art director is a dear friend of mine. he's so talented, and he was robbed of an oscar nom that year. so glad you enjoyed his work, too.
